Jackie's consistently well-planned and sensitive classes were a highlight of my training in Laban Movement Analysis. They opened up new worlds to me as a choreographer and performer.
—Nancy Allison, Dancer, Choreographer, Filmmaker
Jackie Hand was my first ballet teacher. Because of her direction and passion for dance, I fell in love with ballet and later pursued and succeeded in my dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer with some of the top ranked ballet companies in the United States. Jackie enabled me with the knowledge and discipline I needed to compete in the dance world.
—Jody M. Ritrievi, (retired) Professional Ballet Dancer with Harrisburg Ballet Company, St. Louis Ballet, Classical Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Pennsylvania Ballet.
Educating Pre-Professional and Professional Movers
Fully enjoy the process of your body moving.
Jackie’s experience and education is in dance, but with Laban movement training, she has been able to work equally well with pitchers, golfers, rock-climbers and others interested in perfecting their movement skills. If the preparation, initiation and sequencing of a movement combined with dynamics, body adaptation and awareness of space is not adequate to the task, the desired movement is not achieved. Jackie works in a practical, experiential way to help you find efficient and inherent body rhythms and movement phrasing to achieve your movement goals, whether you are in training or are an established professional.
